Reporting to the Vice President of Inpatient and Ancillary
Services, the Administrative Director, Inpatient Service will be
the administrative partner to the Medical Director of the
Hospitalist program as well as a core inpatient leader, moving
forward strategic work related to daily operations and growth of
Dana-Farber's Inpatient Service Line. The position will develop and
implement strategic work to improve current operations, coordinate
service line communications as well as manage all administrative
duties related to the rapidly growing Hospitalist program. -
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and ImplementationWork with Disease Center
leadership to develop and implement strategic plans and
goalsCommunicate with Disease Center faculty and staff regarding
Institute-wide strategic initiatives and policiesOversee new
program development and execution as needed -Collaborates across a
multitude of stakeholders to integrate ideas within broader
planning Financial ManagementPrepare and monitor operating budgets
and identify and address budget variancesAssess productivity
reports and calculate provider bonusesManage and provide oversight
of expensesOversee contracts with external entities, grants,
clinical trials and discretionary/gift accounts as needed -Clinical
OperationsEstablish, implement and monitor processes and procedures
for patient access and satisfaction to ensure excellence.
-Identify, develop and lead process improvement with clinical
partners including physicians, nurses and physician assistants
Monitor a variety of clinical metrics/reports to ensure efficiency
and compliance with policies and programsComply with and
disseminate information on clinician performance, including monthly
RVU reports, regular Meaningful Use reports, and monthly provider
score cardsTroubleshooting/Process ImprovementServe as primary
point of contact in resolving any staff and care delivery problems
within the CenterParticipate on Quality and Process Improvement
project teamsHuman Resource ManagementRecruit and train
administrative staff providing career development
opportunitiesComplete annual performance reviews and provide
on-going feedback for all administrative staffAddress performance
issues with Human Resource assistance, when neededCoordinate
faculty offer/retention packages, provider training, and
credentialing
Qualifications

degree required; Master's degree in business or health care
administration (MBA, MPH, MHA) strongly preferred. A minimum of 10
years of hospital administration experience required; experience in
an academic setting or strategy consulting preferred. Strong

complex projects and competing deadlines -Proven ability to relate
well to and work effectively with all levels of the organization
including faculty, clinical staff, and front desk personnel;
