**Senior Data Analyst** is responsible for the administration and
developer support of the reporting and analytical solutions for the
business group. The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for
supporting our Cognos environment and users, and for proposing
solutions and validating that these solutions meet the needs of the
enterprise business needs. The Senior Data Analyst must have strong
technical, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal
communication skills.The SMX team member will have exposure to tool
administration, configuration, code deployment, security
administration, data analysis, querying, and troubleshooting.The
position involves working with all facets of Cognos in a Data
Warehouse and Operational Data Store environment interacting with
business units and enabling groups. Provide governance for BI
applications. Provide a stable production environment that meets
performance needs and adjust as needed. Resolve production issues
in a timely manner and maintain audit/security.Working with other
internal and external resources to plan and manage BI system
implementations, security, and future/additional product
evaluations for the business intelligence applications as needed.
Help to manage and monitor all phases (i.e., development, test, and
production) of active BI projects.**Responsibilities will include
but are not limited to** :+ Collaborate and partner with SMX
Business and IT teams to define, design/architect, and execute
Cognos and BI related projects+ Research functionality and
technical configuration within the BI systems supported by the BI
Applications group and prepare recommendations for system
improvements whenever possible.+ Partners and consults with
business partners to understand their business requirements;
recommends/designs research and analysis to improve business
performance.+ Help define and prioritize insights and analytics
projects for execution+ Experience managing and implementing
business intelligence landscape+ Translate data into actionable
insights for stakeholders while proactively identifying new areas
of opportunity to drive further improvements+ Collaborate with IT,
and partners to build scalable solutions on behalf of our
customers+ Coordinate with the Business Analysts to understand
their information needs and identify ways to visualize and present
information in a user-friendly manner+ Continually recommend,
develop, and implement process improvements and tools to collect
and analyze data, and visualize insights+ Define and document
application best practices, required standards, processes, and
guidelines regarding the use and administration of the BI tools.+
Guide architecture design review process to drive ongoing
improvement efforts+ Design for scale, integrate with other
products, and ensure successful launch, sustainment, and continuous
improvement+ Provide management with regular and timely status
reports and benchmarking metrics of projects, issues, system
implementations, and upgrades.**Required Skills and Experience:**+
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,
Business Management, or specialized training/certification.+ 5-7
Years development and administrative experience within the Deltek
Cognos ecosystem. Experience should include maintenance and support
activities, performance monitoring and tuning, software
configuration, and general IT processes such as Change Management,
Configuration Management, Problem Resolution, and Incident Tracking
required.+ Deltek Cognos experience required.+ 10+ years Analytics,
Business Intelligence, or Data Warehouse implementation experience+
Strong business knowledge combined with the ability to communicate
advanced analyses to an executive audience required+ 10+ years
Deltek Cognos administration experience+ 10+ years Deltek Report
writing experience+ Deltek Costpoint table structures+ Proven track
record delivering BI / analytics solutions+ Strong analytical
skills and the ability to be technically self-sufficient+
Experience drawing insights from structured and unstructured
information+ Proven competency in dashboard design and information
visualization techniques+ Ability to challenge and convince the
various stakeholders involved in any project initiative or effort+
Experience with federal consulting and government contract
accounting+ Strong project management and organizational skills
required (agile projects), including a thorough understanding of
how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into
technical solutions+ Ability to explain technical concepts to
non-technical associates and vice-versa+ Strong sense of customer
service for internal customers+ Advanced MS Excel experience+
Exceptional ability to produce results within specified time
frames+ Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify
process improvement opportunities**Desired Skills and
Experience:**+ Master's degree preferred or equivalent
