Job Description:

Purpose:
The Senior Compensation Manager is responsible for overseeing UNFI's compensation programs and processes, including base compensation, survey participation, market analysis, job leveling, organizational design, systems management, and annual compensation cycles. This role collaborates closely with HR and management to ensure competitive compensation programs that align with UNFI's strategic priorities, operational goals, and the company's overall compensation philosophy. The Senior Compensation Manager advises management and HR business partners on compensation program application, principles, and practices, while identifying opportunities for process optimization and applying best practices in program design and execution.Job Responsibilities: ---
Manage company-wide compensation initiatives, including market analysis, job leveling, pay equity and transparency, and annual programs. ---
Review salary change requests and provide recommendations that support external market competitiveness and internal equity.

Provide leadership with proactive insights and anticipated changes in compensation rates, industry trends and best practices using external market data. ---
Administer salary programs for non-exempt and exempt positions to ensure both internal and external equity.
---
Maintain consistency in the company's job classification process and reporting, collaborating with Legal when necessary.
---
Partner with HR, including Talent Acquisition and Talent Management, to oversee organizational design and the administration of performance management programs and systems.
---
Review and analyze changes in state and federal laws related to compensation, such as minimum rates, FLSA classifications, and pay transparency, and make recommendations to senior management, coordinating actions with HR Shared Services, IT, and Legal departments as needed. ---
Develop effective communications to educate HR and management on the Company's compensation philosophy and compensation programs.

Support the implementation of salary administration procedures, approval processes, and the effective administration of compensation plans. ---
Contribute to the achievement of overall Human Resources strategy and objectives.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, or related experience ---
CCP, CEBS, or PHR a plus Experience:
---
5 - 7 years' experience in the analysis, design, and/or administration of compensation programs ---
1 - 2 years' managerial experience ---
Experience in developing sales compensation plans and executive compensation. ---
Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of performance management systems. ---
Experience in wholesale/distribution and consumer goods industries is a plus. Knowledge:

Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Advanced Excel skills

Experience with HRIS systems; PeopleSoft a plus, SuccessFactors a plus Skills/Abilities:

Able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization including development and delivery of presentations. ---
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills ---
Creativity and critical thinking skills as demonstrated through the ability to draw conclusions, themes, and trends from data analysis. ---
Requires demonstrated attention to detail, strong time management, customer service skills, and organization. ---
Demonstrated leadership in planning, developing, and implementing major compensation initiatives.

Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and within a team environment to meet established deadlines. ---
