Accounts Payable Specialist Chesapeake, VA OVERVIEW A growing and reputable service company is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to manage day-to-day accounting functions and ensure timely, accurate financial processing. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and experienced in handling high-volume payables in a fast-paced environment. WHAT YOU’LL DO Process invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure proper approvals before payment. Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices for accuracy and completeness. Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and credit card transactions. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Maintain accurate and organized vendor files and payment records. Support month-end closing activities and assist with financial reporting as needed. Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing issues. Assist with other accounting or administrative duties as assigned. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
