Job Summary:

The Director of Data Architecture and Analytics is responsible for the design, development, maintenance and growth of enterprise data management, reporting, and analytics solutions aimed at supporting evidence-based decision making across all business and performance excellence operations, including but not limited to within Senior Leadership governance committees, Business Development, Marketing, Quality, Performance Excellence and other operational and support departments. The Director of Data Architecture and Analytics provides thought and technical leadership on how the organization defines, captures, analyzes, and reports data from a variety of disparate data sources to drive businesses and performance excellence strategies. This role is multi-faceted, demanding technical, communication, problem-solving, personnel management, and project management skills.

Reports to: Vice President of Strategy and Performance Excellence with matrixed reporting relationship to the Chief Information Officer

Minimum Qualifications

Eight (8) or more years' experience across roles in data architecture and management, analytics, reporting, business intelligence and/or strategy preferably in a healthcare environment

Five (5) or more years' experience implementing enterprise data architecture and management framework, reporting, and analytics solutions

Four (4) or more years' personnel and project management experience, including experience acting as an IT project technical lead for complex, high risk, high visibility projects

Expertise in current data warehousing, reporting and analytics concepts, technologies, and programming languages

Experience with Microsoft SSIS, SSRS, with proficiency with Microsoft T-SQL required

Experience with Business Intelligence platforms (e.g Tableau, Power BI)

Experience building and designing automated workflows and procedures

Bachelor Degree in Business, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field required, Master's Degree preferred

Ability to effectively manage project work and routine operations according to enterprise alignment priorities with strong planning, organization, analytic and troubleshooting skills

Ability to effectively manage complex projects from start to finish with wide latitude for independent decision making

Ability to effectively manage staff working across a diversity of data management, analytic and reporting tools and platforms, including the technical oversight of the quality and accuracy of employees' work

Ability to interact professionally with staff, management, and senior leadership across all levels of the organization

Maintains sufficient understanding of healthcare and hospital terminology and industry trends to enable dialogue with and management of healthcare data analysis and reporting with internal and external stakeholders

Ability to communicate ideas clearly in both written and oral forms

Maintains a positive, collaborative attitude when interacting with internal and external stakeholders

Ability to evaluate vendor data exchange specifications and develop data extracts according to vendor specifications

Knowledge of and proficiency in technical ETL concepts, relational database theory, table relationships and normalized table design

Job Specific Accountabilities

Responsible for leading the project management lifecycle from conception through completion includes assessing business requirements, scoping and planning projects and initiatives, budgeting, forecasting, tracking and reporting project status, managing deliverables, and assessing customer satisfaction in part through collaborating with various business and operational departments across the organization to understand their data, data needs and managing the delivery of data and reports in a manner stakeholders can easily access, understand, and translate into actions that improve their processes and outcomes

Lead the design, development and deployment of an enterprise-wide data management framework, analytics, and reporting program that includes the development of a comprehensive data warehouse or other database solution(s) that enables and facilitates the development and dissemination of actionable information throughout the organization via reporting solutions including but not limited to routine management scorecards, routine operational dashboards and predictive analytic reports and interfaces

Manages and ensures the integrity and security of all information contained within the data warehouse and other critical database sources by overseeing the technical management of these sources, alignment of data across systems of record and consensus definitions for data governance, and collaboration with constituent privacy and data security stakeholders

Responsible for ensuring all technical documentation of systems architecture, processes, integrations and extract, transform and load processes and other elements are up to date and accurate

Provides day-to-day leadership to and management of Data Architect / SQL Database Developer(s), Business Intelligence Developer(s), and Data Scientist / Statistician(s)

Responsible for ensuring data is available to internal and external systems and stakeholders on a routine and ad-hoc basis and data processes and systems run smoothly and on schedule while continuously looking for opportunities for automation and improvement aimed at deliberately evolving and maturing South County Health's digital health solutions and capabilities, including with the development of best practices and guidelines for existing or new technologies
