JOB SUMMARY The Content & Social Media Strategist is responsible for developing and implementing Textron's external digital communications content and strategy. In this role, he/she will help to shape Textron on social media as a recruiting tool, increase awareness of Textron as a brand, and coordinate social media strategy with Business Units to ensure that we are all driving towards the same goals. He/she should have strong writing skills for all social media platforms, understand the analytics of social media campaigns and interpret the results to continuously improve. The selected candidate will have experience and a keen interest in digital communications, social media, web design, presentation design and/or publishing, in addition to written communications. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Social Media
  • Execute the overall strategy for social media channels, including LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and others that may arise-specifically, a strategy that engages stakeholders' audiences such as prospective customers and employees
  • Design and develop social media campaigns and maintain on-going campaigns that reach our target audiences
  • Develop original content, incorporating the use of photography, video and other media, related to news, community involvement and recruiting efforts that support and align with Textron's enterprise communications priorities
  • Identify appropriate content and share daily business unit updates to social media channels
  • Monitor, listen and respond to users
  • Influence and engage with BU social media managers to support social media enterprise strategy alignment
  • Benchmark competitor social media strategy and programs and propose new initiatives for Textron
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.
  • Monitor and review business unit social media posts to ensure professionalism
  • Assist with tracking of metrics to identify areas for continuous improvement
  • Lead bi-monthly enterprise Social Media Working Group meetings
  • Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the company. Report notable threats to management.

  • Assist as subject matter expert for internal communications channels
  • Support external communications projects, including refreshes to the look/feel of
  • Identify and implement appropriate content updates for on a regular basis
  • Lead enterprise trainings for digital communications efforts

  • Assist in the development of presentations delivered by executives that incorporate innovative and high-quality designs.
  • Act as videographer/photographer for corporate events, headshots, etc.
  • Stay abreast of relevant digital trends, industry best practices, company guidelines and policies; and recommend and execute appropriate process changes and initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Protect and maintain the privacy of employee personnel records including, but not limited to, personal and compensation information about employees
  • Open to future career development opportunities within Textron business unit locations EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
    • 2 years of social media experience, including writing and strategy development SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
      • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
      • Communications experience preferred, either within a Communications/Marketing department or in a role that required interaction with a Communications/Marketing team
      • Strong Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills
      • Experience with video and video editing
      • Is technically savvy and able to work collaboratively with the technical team
      • Ability to translate customer needs into exceptional digital solutions
      • Strong writing skills and ability to develop creative, multi-channel communications campaigns that inspire desired behaviors
      • Exposure to web design and/or publishing
      • Strong influencing and engagement skills
      • Interest in ongoing learning and self-development
