Job Description:
Encompass Health Corporation, a leader in patient care that
provides both facility-based and home-based services through a
network of rehabilitation hospitals and home health agencies, is
currently seeking an experienced Hospital Maintenance Mechanic to
join our dedicated facilities team. This role is pivotal in
ensuring that our medical facilities are functioning optimally to
support patient care and staff efficiency. The Hospital Maintenance
Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining the physical plant
operations, including preventive maintenance, emergency repairs,
and equipment installation. Perform routine and preventative
maintenance of hospital building systems, including HVAC,
electrical, and plumbing. Respond to service calls and emergency
situations related to facility equipment and systems. Install,
inspect, and repair mechanical equipment and electrical circuits.
Collaborate with facility management to prioritize maintenance and
repair tasks. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work
performed and inventory levels. Ensure compliance with all safety
and health regulations. Provide training and support to other
maintenance staff. Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
systems. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Strong
problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work
independently and manage time efficiently. Familiarity with health
and safety regulations within a healthcare facility. Medical

HVAC or electrical maintenance preferred.
