Reporting to the Sr. Site Leader, the Plant Engineering Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the facility's Plant Engineering group to support specific business unit cost reduction and productivity improvement objectives. Essentially, the Plant Engineering Manager will maintain and continuously improve Materion Technical Material's capabilities to resolve all problems with production and quality, as well as, provide project management, engineering, maintenance and fabrication services to the plant. You will have the opportunity to : Develop Capex budget and update accounting on projects status Assist with coordination of capital budgeting process and execute capital projects for an annual budget exceeding $5,000,000. Coordinate with EH&S Manager with safety issues that require engineering support Support Contractor/Vendor and Security Programs Coordinate with Marketing on new products engineering Act as the primary resource for budgeting, planning, justifying, coordinating and executing capital projects, equipment alterations, installations and process tooling development. Responsible for all necessary support of 8D and CCA activities. Project control and failure mode management utilizing advanced methods such as SPC, cellular concept manufacturing, data acquisition, CAD, FMEA, DOE/Optimization, Lean Sigma methodologies. Completes performance appraisals for all assigned employees, sets goals and objectives consistent with department / unit goals. --- Requirements: B.S. in Engineering (Materials, Metallurgical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred) Minimum 15 years manufacturing experience Minimum 10 years of plant engineering experience Knowledge of strip handling technology and equipment such as rolling mills, slitters, levelers, furnaces, vacuum systems, metals machining equipment, electron beam welders, wastewater treatment, electro-plating technologies Professional Engineering Certifications preferred, such as P.E or E.I.T. The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
