Senior Network Engineer for Managed Service Provider

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Be a hero to our clients! You love the satisfaction of helping others don't you?
    • Identify and initiate proactive, basic solutions that improve efficiency and/or effectiveness
    • Diagnose and resolve software issues within a primarily Windows environment, may assist with Mac issues as well
    • Perform software installation on Windows Workstations and Windows Servers
    • Maintain detailed information of client interactions and issues within ConnectWise ticketing system
    • Add/delete users to/from domain
    • Resolve basic networking issues
    • Troubleshoot email issues and provide remediation, including spam protection, Outlook, email archiving
    • Research, test and deploy new technology
    • Take initiative to document information and create Standard Operating Procedures
    • Identify and escalate critical incidents within 15 minutes of not being able to resolve a ticket
    • Prioritize work and set expectations for all incidents and requests, while working within the schedule defined by the Service Desk Manager
    • Collaborate with customers (of all levels of the business), team members, and support teams to identify incident details and request requirements
    • Perform daily preventative maintenance on all necessary peripheral devices (e.g. scanners)
    • Complete client project tickets where required
    • Be a part of an every -6 week on-call rotation, where you will be expected to resolve urgent client issues and monitor new tickets after hours and over a weekend
    • Act as technical lead for projects
    • Provide mentoring for junior technicians
    • Build or migrate domains from the ground up, including server setup, firewall setup
    • Designing and implementing appropriate domain group policies or Azure policies
    • Create Microsoft 365 tenants and correctly configure including security settings
    • Troubleshoot advanced networking issues involving issues with Layer 2/3 switching, firewalls, wireless systems, etc
    • Design and deploy commercial grade wireless infrastructure
    • Visit client sites
      Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
      • Experience working for an MSP preferred
      • At least 7 years of relevant experience
      • Proficient knowledge of Windows OS and MS Office applications
      • Proficient knowledge of server architecture and networking
      • Experience with network management and monitoring tools (RMM, etc)
      • Ability to proactively train on new technologies
      • Great understanding of DNS, DHCP, and troubleshooting connectivity issues
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 environments, including tenant setup and maintenance
      • Working knowledge of Auvik, Unifi, SonicWall/GMS, Threatlocker, Nessus, SentinelOne
      • Familiarity with compliance standards (ie CMMC, NIST, PCI, etc) a plus
      • Proficiency in maintaining Windows Active Directory
      • Advanced knowledge in routers, managed switches, and other networking devices
      • Advanced knowledge in managing Microsoft Server Operating Systems and Networks
      • Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Workstation Operating Systems and Applications
      • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Azure
      • Intermediate knowledge of Hyper-V and/or VMware
      • Demonstrated expertise in analyzing and solving complex technical problems
      • Ability to work in a strong team environment as well as independently as the need arises
      • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technology in a manner that is understandable to others
      • Must have strong initiative and ability to work effectively to manage their department's workload
      • Possess a genuine desire to help

      • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
      • This position requires the ability to remain calm when under pressure

      • Able to lift boxes and equipment from 5lbs to 50lbs

      • Ability to provide and maintain detailed documentation on each job
      • Strong computer skills and the ability to effectively communicate through e-mail
      • Ability to remain in contact with the client through the completion of the incident
      • Problem-solving abilities and ability to meet reasonable deadlines
      • Ability to build positive and collaborative relationships
      • Willingness to develop professionally
      • Ability to work with little supervision and technically lead a team
        Education Requirements:
        • Holds at least an Associate's degree. Preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
        • Professional certifications (e.g. A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator-MCSA) are a plus
