- And more! WHAT YOU WILL DO: Reporting to the Director,
Information Technology, you will play a key role in developing and
improving RIQI's clinical and operational data warehouse for use in
research collaboration, product development, contract fulfillment
(RHIO), and internal reporting. This position works closely with
technical leadership to define and develop novel ways to analyze
and present data from the Health Information Exchange to healthcare
stakeholders in RI. In support of organizational initiatives, you
will construct and implement extract/transform/load (ETL) routines,
platform integrations, and self-service analytics tools. This
position works with both structured and unstructured data while
ensuring consistency and accuracy across systems. Responsibilities
Data Quality
- Develops and executes plans, policies, and practices that
control, protect, deliver, and enhance the value and integrity of
RIQI's data and information assets.
- Implements Data Profiling, Data Analytics, and Data Governance
projects at RIQI.
- Monitors the quality of RIQI's data and information, reports on
results, and identifies and works with the IT team to improve the
quality of data in all applications.
- Maintains and improves the RIQI analytics data warehouse,
associated ETL routines, and databases.
- Monitors and improves data quality and process flow to support
RIQI products and services.
- Integrates data from multiple sources to design, develop, and
generate operational and ad hoc reports.
- Works with business partners, in coordination with other RIQI
team members, on data anomalies and requests for information,.
- Prioritizes accuracy, completeness, and fidelity of data
deliverables. Analytics
- Engages in developing and executing standard, recurring
reports, and ad hoc analyses.
- Manipulates and analyzes complex data from varying sources and
reports on results.
- Delivers data and reports to various external stakeholders
following specified standards (e.g., OMOP, HEDIS).
- Develops analytical models for application development.
Visualization
- Builds and supports dashboards for self-service reporting to be
used by internal stakeholders.
- Works with cross-organizational stakeholders to define business
requirements.
- Develops ways to communicate visually about the Health
Information Exchange, the data it contains, and potential gaps to
internal and external stakeholders.
- Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in biological, physical, or quantitative
science.
- Minimum three years' experience in business or health data
management and reporting, data analytics, or data stewardship.
- Demonstrated proficiency with ETL processes or tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in SQL, WebFocus, R, and data
cleaning.
- Experience in participating in upgrading software systems and
debugging custom code.
- Experience with statistical or general programming languages
(such as R, Julia, Python).
- Familiarity with data analytics tools (such as Information
Builders or Power BI).
- Strong commitment to using healthcare clinical and
administrative data to deliver insights to healthcare leaders in
support of the Quintuple Aim to provide better care for
individuals, enable better health for populations, lower per capita
costs for health care, address health inequities, and increase
well-being of the healthcare workforce. Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Biomedical
Informatics, Health Information Technology, Computer Science,
Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics) or equivalent work
experience preferred.
- Demonstrated practical experience in health informatics or
health information technology.
- Certification in health informatics (e.g., AHIC) or health
information management (e.g., CPHIMS).
- Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR),
prescription, and lab data.
- Understanding or experience in using electronic health data for
health services research.
- General familiarity with HIPAA and CFR Part 2.
- Commitment to delivering high-level customer service through a
collaborative approach.
- Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical
audiences succinctly.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Motivated and focused on developing interpersonal and technical
