Job Description:

Lifespan has joined other healthcare leaders and systems around the country in requiring all employees, regardless of their role, to be vaccinated against COVID-19. In addition, the Rhode Island Department of Health has now issued a new emergency regulation requiring all healthcare workers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by October 1, 2021. All new hires must be fully vaccinated by October 1st or by their start date. The Workers--- Compensation Manager reports to the Director of Lifespan Employee and Occupational Health Services (EOHS). Works with appropriate stakeholders to maintain responsibility for the Lifespan workers--- compensation program focusing on initial injury management claims management as well as data analysis and collaboration for preventive programs. Utilizing a collaborative process works with the Lifespan EOHS team employees managers providers attorneys claims adjusters and Human Resources colleagues to plan implement and evaluate plans of care for Lifespan employees who are on Workers--- Compensation. Responsibilities:
Maintains accountability for the employee---s plan of care validating required work activities and return-to work planning implementation and evaluation. Interprets client information and assesses implications for treatment and rehabilitation potential. Assures that workers--- compensation claims are in compliance with regulations statutes and protocols. Provides consultation to stakeholders to provide guidance and direction. Directly supports the clinical needs related to workers--- compensation case management and prioritization of all cases. Responsible for workers--- compensation claim evaluation and for monitoring treatment plans for appropriate treatments and durations of incapacity as well as return-to-work options. Provides ongoing evaluation of treatment plans in relationship to established outcomes. Maintains familiarity with disease processes treatment modalities evidenced-based practices and disability guidelines. Serves as a liaison regarding job analyses and ergonomic assessments. Works to expand the current ergonomic initiative within Lifespan. Participates in ongoing independent study education-related professional activities affiliations and maintaining advanced practitioner---s knowledge of leading-edge developments in the field of workers--- compensation workplace injury proactive injury reduction and occupational and environmental health. Uses evidence-based guidelines and data driven strategies for determining optimal clinical and legal outcomes. Continue close working relationship with legal partners to optimize our outcomes. Ensures consistent approach to modified work and a transition to full duty. --Develop a network of providers that is consistent with Lifespan---s C.A.R.E. values and our evidence-based guidelines involving all appropriate stakeholders in those decisions. --Responsible for all data data analysis and OSHA measures. EDUCATION: Baccalaureate degree in a health-related field required. Current licensure to practice as a
Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island. Certification in Occupational Health Nursing preferred. EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of principles for providing customer services that
meet quality standards. Must be able to communicate information clearly and
accurately so that others understand.

Three to five years related experiences in workers--- compensation claim
management with ability to manage a wide range of customer issues. Familiarity with RI Workers--- Compensation Laws and Family
and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA) and the Rhode Island Parental and Family
Medical Leave Act (RIPFMLA).

Has knowledge of workers--- compensation laws legal codes and governmental
regulations regarding workers--- compensation.

Maintains quality assurance standards safety environmental and infection
control in accordance with Lifespan policies and procedures.

Has knowledge of business principles involved in strategic planning and
coordination of people and resources. SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITY: Direct supervision of support staff. Provides functional guidance to other RN---s who are managing
