Director Analytics & AI Systems - Remote The Director, Analytics & AI Systems will be responsible for designing the analytics and AI systems strategy and implementing into our Digital ecosystem and requires working collaboratively with UNFI stakeholders including the Executive Leadership Team. This role will lead, organize, collaborate, and deliver digital analytics tools that provide new insights to suppliers, customers, and associates. This role is responsible for leading a team of skilled engineering and product development resources within the software/product development lifecycle by using project management skills, leadership, and transformation techniques to drive on time project completion and successful outcomes. This role partners with various Technology and Business leaders to build and execute program roadmaps and track key metrics to achieve UNFI Digital Transformation's analytical system related objectives and delivery targets. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Job Responsibilities

  • Leading program-level execution of the business requirements of the strategy, design, and implementation of analytics-related builds within UNFI's Digital Transformation and IT teams, including:
  • Working with internal and external customers to define digital platform related capability build requirements that comprehensively meet business needs and management direction.
  • Working with IT and internal and external customers to sequence and prioritize these requirements into comprehensive product development roadmaps.
  • Adeptly working around any execution roadblocks, communicating regularly to manage customer expectations, and ensuring on-time delivery of all stories/requirements
  • Lead new analytics and AI initiatives/projects, work with internal and external teams to solution, plan, and implement
  • Contributes to business and technology planning and development/management of technology budgets
  • Directs the development and implementation of tools and technologies that make it easier to do work, and increase effectiveness and ensures implemented services, products and solutions are consistent with strategic architecture
  • Works with teams and external service providers to establish SLAs that support business objectives; Measures service performance against SLAs and recommends/implements improvements
  • Solve complex problems by leveraging advanced technology and analytics solutions
  • Lead cross-functional meetings, collaborate with senior leaders Leadership & Coaching
    • Coaches and mentors direct reports/team members on their assigned efforts and team responsibilities
    • Ensures activities have proper coordination and collaboration when crossing multiple teams across UNFI business areas or external IT vendors/partners JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience: Experience:
      • Minimum 10 years of Business and/or Technology experience in a leadership role
      • Understanding, identifying, and assessing new technologies and their value proposition to solve business problems
      • Experience with Agile software development methodologies and ceremonies and experience leading teams working in an Agile Scrum environment
      • Has a passion for achieving excellence in delivery, solving complex problems, and owning all aspects of solutioning and delivery
      • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills
      • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills with the ability to balance overlapping deadlines
      • Strong collaborator with excellent facilitation skills with ability to facilitate working sessions with disparate groups
      • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and manage stakeholders' expectations Experience with supporting the design and implementation of large-scale organizational or technology transformations, including serving in lead roles and execution and content-driven roles
      • Ability to work effectively across the organization, leverage matrixed teams, build coalitions to realize shared objectives, build relationships, and partner with individuals at all levels
      • Experience leading cross-functional project teams and working in a 3-in-a-box structure Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
        • Ability Translate strategic direction and business objectives into Digital requirements and act as the conduit between UNFI and analytics and AI providers
        • Must have a solid understanding of agile and waterfall project management, analytics tools, and have successfully led multiple Digital initiatives.
        • Ability to collaborate with business partners to understand needs and priorities and integrates critical business information into technology solutions
        • Directs the development and implementation of software/product development and integration plans and projects to support business strategy
        • Process mindset with excellent documentation skills
        • Leverages their knowledge to create/design solutions for business needs
        • Provide assessment and recommendations throughout vendor evaluation, negotiation, and contract development processes
        • Must be proficient with O365 products (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel) PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:
          • Some travel is required (approximately 5%-10%)
          • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
          • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
          • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

            • Schedule: Full-time Compensation
              • Pay Range: $114,300 - 220,500 Annually ($54.95 - 106.01 Hourly)
              • Other Compensation: Long Term Incentive and Bonus Eligible Compensation: UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
