This key leader in our organization will lead Solution Architecture as we transform our legacy technology platforms and embrace innovative digital solutions.This is an excellent opportunity to join a community of strategic technical leaders spanning ThermoFisher Scientific Information Technology. You will help us navigate a rapidly developing technology landscape and modernize our core technology platform.The role requires a background in architecture and software development, building relationships, improving customer experience and partnering with stakeholders resulting in progressive technology solutions.Good communication skills are key to engage in open discussions with partners from both IT and the business, to identify issues, and communicate appropriate solutions.**Key Responsibilities:**+ Leads the architecture and design of technical solutions. Is responsible for the design and architecture of Digital Solution platforms+ Leads technical analysis activities, such as requirements gathering and product gap analysis+ Delivers thorough, detailed design specifications+ Ensures that proposed architectures and designs follow industry standard methodologies and are efficient+ Proposes the optimal IT/Infrastructure components appropriate to the solution+ Leads other SMEs and Solution Architects to ensure design contributions meet system architecture functional and non-functional requirements+ Analyses and designs application interfaces+ Drives excellence in execution through continuous improvement+ Clearly communicates design concepts to the customer and key project team members+ Helps to capitalize and disseminate knowledge across the solution architecture team+ Continuously builds technical expertise in the field of their domain+ Ensures traceability of requirements with solutions proposed**Qualifications:**+ Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent experience+ 8+ years experience in designing and developing small, medium and large scale, data driven software solutions+ 3+ years experience in administrating, designing, and supporting software solution architecture+ Strong experience with Agile / Scrum software development+ Experience designing and implementing 24X7 critically important software applications+ Demonstrable understanding of enterprise architecture patterns, especially on meeting performance, scalability, and security.+ Solid understanding crafting scalable and highly distributed solutions, as well as cloud and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes.+ Prior work experience with digital solution concepts such as cybersecurity, virtualization, containerization, connectivity protocols, microservice architecture, Service Oriented Architecture, application design, data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.+ Knowledge & experience in microservices architecture and web services+ Hands-on programming experience in software development.
