Contributes to the establishment of the Risk and Compliance Data
Lakes and associated analytical platforms, using SQL Oracle,
Snowflake, and Netezza. Support reporting and analytics using
Business Intelligence (BI) technologies Microsoft Power BI or
Tableau. Provides leadership on complex systems analysis projects,
often across subsystems and companies, in a matrix organization.
Consults with business users to develop recommendations that
address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities.
Leads interviews with business users to gather requirements, and
document them in conceptual or logical data models.
Employs physical data modelling styles (relational, dimensional,
and data vault) as appropriate for projects.
Serves as industry subject matter expert in the Risk,
Compliance, and Anti Money Laundering areas and identifies other
subject matter experts for cross-domain projects.
Works collaboratively in an Agile environment.
Analyzes technology needs and system and workflow
Develops recommendations to address complex business needs.
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex systems
analysis projects and defines project scope.
Leads and mentors other analysts on large and complex projects
and monitors the quality and progress of artifacts created by other
Leads and participates in the definition of test strategies, and
coordinates user acceptance testing efforts.
Communicates progress of multiple projects to management,
engages stakeholders on a regular basis, and manages expectations
of internal and external stakeholders.
Works with other teams to evolve standards and best practices
for systems analysis processes.
Participates in incident/crisis management to assess business
impact, determine/facilitate any workarounds, in concert with the
production support organization.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied
Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely
related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered
or five (5) years of experience performing data analysis and
modeling, using SQL, PL/SQL, and Python in a financial services
Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science,
Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3)
years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of
experience performing data analysis and modeling, using SQL,
PL/SQL, and Python in a financial services domain.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (DE) designing complex dimensional models
and Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) to create
conceptual, logical, and physical models according to standards,
taxonomy, and best practices, using data modeling tools -- SAP
Power Designer or Oracle Designer.
DE designing, developing, and supporting data driven solutions
and data warehouses, using Oracle, Snowflake, SQL, PL/SQL, AWS,
Microsoft Azure, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, NiFi, and Python;
scheduling jobs to refresh data warehouses, using Control-M or
Autosys; deploying code changes using Continuous
Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools -- Jenkins and
Bitbucket; and debugging and tuning complex SQL statements.
DE collaborating with business stakeholders in financial
services, risk, compliance, and anti-money laundering domains to
gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into
DE creating projects stories, backlogs, and references using
enterprise tools -- Atlassian, Jira, and Confluence -- to execute
project deliverables; providing project management for Scrum teams
-- creating and project managing business, design, development, and
test stories -- according to Agile methodologies; and performing
backlog refinement, retrospective, and sprint planning within a
financial services compliance environment.
