Our network is designed to be diverse, accepting students from two traditionally higher- income communities of Cumberland and Lincoln and two from predominantly lower- income communities of Pawtucket and Central Falls. Successful candidates should understand and advocate for the importance of diversity in classrooms, curricula, and throughout school systems.Learn more about why BVP is different.Expectations of a BVP Team Member include (but are not limited to):Acts on the belief that 100% of scholars can be successful in college and the world beyondEmbraces the diversity of the BVP community by fostering an environment of respect and inclusion while actively working to build an equitable school communityCultivates positive identity formation for scholars and prepares them to live and work together in a diverse worldIs results driven, with excellent planning and organizing skills, and a "do whatever it takes" attitude and work ethicEngages meaningfully in school and network professional growth opportunities and enhances professional growth by giving and seeking assistance from other team membersActs ethically and with integrity while following all school, network, and state policiesEngages families as partners in scholar success while recognizing and respecting differences in family backgrounds, structures, and culturesAdditionally, School Psychologists are expected to:Administer, interpret, and utilize psychological tests, functional behavior assessments, and other evaluation materials to complete comprehensive reportsParticipate in the RTI process for scholars with confirmed or suspected special needs and in the subsequent planning of educational programs. Discuss evaluation results and meaningful recommendations as related to the referral question.Help school teams use evaluation and observation data to plan instruction that will help scholars meet learning standards and access curriculum.Identify scholars in need of support and/or referral services through observation, data collection, informal evaluation, and formal evaluation, and assist school personnel in the implementation and coordination of appropriate action stepsWork in collaboration with the student support teamAssist school teams in developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior intervention plansProvide ongoing consultation and modeling of therapeutic strategies for teaching teams and support staffMaintain accurate, complete, and comprehensive scholar and staff records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulationsManage an assessment caseload to maintain strict adherence to all assessment timelines pursuant to special education guidelinesQualifications: Advanced degree in school psychology requiredBilingual candidates strongly preferred, but not requiredSuccessful applicants must hold an appropriate Rhode Island certification and licensure by their date of hire. Compensation/Professional Growth:BVP offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position, and a comprehensive medical and dental plan that covers 80% of the employee premium.
