*Certified Dental Assistant**Lifespan**Providence, Rhode Island*As Rhode Islands largest health system and private employer, Lifespan is dedicated to improving the health of the people within our communities. We are seeking a full-time *Certified* *Dental Assistant *to join us at the Samuels Sinclair Dental Center in Providence, RI. In this position, you will support the Dentists and Dental Hygienists as they provide dental care to adult, intellectually disabled, pediatric and medically compromised patients.*Responsibilities:* Review scheduled procedures and prepare the designated dental unit by setting up instruments, materials and supplies Assist dentists and dental hygienists with a variety of dental and oral surgical procedures, including restorative prosthodontic oral surgery, periodontic and endodontic Update and review signed and dated patient medical history Record and monitor patient vital signs before and during treatment Prepare patients for treatment, including draping, positioning and placement in appropriate protective devices Fabricate custom trays and record bases, pour and trim study models and fabricate night guards or stints Provide instructions and information on procedures and post-operative care to patients*Qualifications*: Certification in radiology from an accredited program with the ability to take dental radiographs BLS Certification General dental assisting experience with familiarity of various dental procedures and the instruments/equipment they require Ability to operate office equipment, such as computer system, fax machine and copy machine Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process*Working at Lifespan*At Lifespan, we utilize a multidisciplinary team approach to medicine and provide the right blend of autonomy and collaboration.
