We are the principal teaching and research hospital for the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.As Rhode Islands largest health system and private employer, Brown University Health is committed to clinical excellence and devoted to our mission of delivering health with care.*Why work for Rhode Island Hospital?** Work in a rewarding and challenging acute care environment and teaching hospital where learning is a priority and teamwork is celebrated.* Participate in a thorough and supportive orientation process.* RI Hospital is committed to the care of trauma patients and offers the highest level of expert and precision care available in the RI region.*Benefits: ** Competitive salary* Comprehensive suite of benefits including medical/dental/vision* Generous Paid Time Off* 10 paid holidays* 401(k) retirement plan with a 6% employer match* Tuition Assistance Reimbursement Program (up to $3,500/year)* Student loan debt repayment (full-time employees only, up to $75/month)* Pet Insurance* Additional family-friendly benefits to support your health and well-being*Responsibilities and Qualifications:** Assist physicians with cardiac catheterizations and other cardiovascular procedures* Assess and monitor patients status before, during and after procedures* Set up the laboratory prior to procedure and ensure that the appropriate equipment and supplies are available* Maintain sterile field and monitors patients emotional and medical status during procedures, including EKG and pressure on oscilloscope and alert physician to any abnormalities* Assist physician throughout procedure, including administering medication (mostly by IV push), injecting coronary arteries with contrast media, handling catheters and guide wires, flushing and removing intravascular catheters and drawing arterial and venous blood samples* Arrange for discharge and transfer of patients and communicate patient status to receiving unit* May perform some duties of the Technologist, including operating equipment such as contrast injector, cardiac output computer, pacemaker tester and camera as necessary* Identify and assess emergency situations* Current RI RN license required* ASN; BSN preferred* 3+ years of experience as a registered nurse, preferably in Intensive Care or Cath Lab setting* Candidates must emulate our C.A.R.E.
