Job Description Exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced medical team within a growing federally qualified community health center. HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc . “The Heart of Our Community” provides comprehensive services including adult/pediatric medical care, health education, health assessment and screenings, gynecology, cardiology, behavioral health, substance use treatment, and adult/pediatric dental care. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Summary: Under the general direction of the CEO, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is the senior physician executive responsible for clinical strategy, provider performance, and the ongoing evolution of HealthFirst’s care model. The CMO leads and unifies clinical leadership across service line including medical, behavioral health, and Office-Based Addiction Medicine program (OBAT), ensures compliance with FQHC requirements, and strengthens a culture of continuous quality improvement, patient centered team-based care, and clinician engagement. Equally important, the CMO serves as the “medical face” of HealthFirst – building trust in the community, representing the organization in public forums, and participating in statewide and national initiatives relevant to community health centers and underserved populations. Pay Range: $264,500 - $300,000 annually * The pay range represents HealthFirst’s good faith estimate for this role at the time of posting, in compliance with applicable laws. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors such as relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, market conditions, and budget considerations. Candidates with less direct experience may be placed at the lower end of the range, while those with more significant or specialized experience may be considered at the higher end. Benefits: Employer contributed health, dental, and vision insurance; employer paid life insurance and long-term disability; retirement contributions, malpractice coverage, license fees reimbursement and CME reimbursement; 5.2 weeks paid time off, 3 personal days, 11.5 paid holidays and 1 week of CME time; employee discounts, tuition reimbursement, and referral program; flexible spending accounts and disability/critical illness coverage.; license, certification and board fees reimbursed; and teaching affiliations with local medical and nursing schools. Required Qualifications: MD or DO from an accredited medical school; board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or other primary-care-aligned specialties required. Eligible for (or currently holding) unrestricted medical licensure in Massachusetts, DEA, Mass Controlled, and necessary certifications are required. Significant clinical experience with progressive leadership responsibility; demonstrated success supervising providers and leading quality/performance improvement in a FQHC preferred. Demonstrated comfort with EHRs and data-informed performance management. Knowledge of community health and public health principles and practices preferred. Master of Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred. Possesses the ability to balance clinical and business consideration. Commitment to, and interest in, working with a multi-cultural population. Bi-lingual/Tri-lingual English, Spanish Portuguese preferred but not required. Maintains a current certification in CPR at the healthcare provider level. Must submit a CORI release form and demonstrate proof of being free from disqualifying information.
