Hours Weekly | Some evenings possible Job Summary This facility
provides world-class care to a unique island community. This role
supports the facility during the busy summer season, where the
island population swells from 15,000 to over 100,000. You will work
side-by-side with providers to deliver patient-centered primary and
specialty care in a high-volume ambulatory setting. Key
Responsibilities - Clinical Operations: Support medical providers
in daily clinic operations, including rooming patients, assisting
with minor procedures, and managing clinic flow. - Patient
Assessment: Perform intake assessments, medication reconciliation,
and triage for a diverse patient population ranging from year-round
residents to seasonal tourists. - OB Support: Provide specialized
support for maternal-fetal health visits (OB experience is highly
preferred for this role). - Care Coordination: Act as a liaison
between patients and the healthcare team to oversee the delivery of
diagnostic results and follow-up care plans. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate clinical records within the Mass General Brigham
EMR system (Epic). Requirements & Qualifications - Experience:
Previous experience in a Clinic or Ambulatory Care setting is
required. - Specialty Preferred: OB/Maternal Health experience is
strongly preferred to support the island's prenatal services. -
Licensure: Active Massachusetts (MA) RN License. - Certification:
BLS (AHA) – Required. - Attributes: Strong communication skills and
the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with high seasonal
census fluctuations. Unit & Facility Details: - Address: Nantucket,
MA 02554. - Housing: Shared housing is provided at no cost—a
significant benefit given the high cost of seasonal living on the
island. - Community Impact: NCH is the only hospital on the island,
making the clinic a vital hub for both routine and urgent care
needs. Financial & Logistics Notes - Contract Length: This is a
long-term 6-month assignment, covering the entirety of the peak
summer season. - Shift Flexibility: While primarily 8 am – 5 pm,
the ability to work some evening hours is required as the clinic
expands hours to meet seasonal demand. - Reason for Requisition:
Increase in census (seasonal population growth). Clinical
Spotlight: Island Nursing Nursing on Nantucket is unlike any
mainland assignment. Because the nearest trauma center is a ferry
or medflight away, the clinic RN plays a critical role in early
detection and thorough primary care. During the summer months, you
will see a wide variety of clinical cases, from routine wellness
checks to acute Lyme disease presentations and beach-related
injuries. Your ability to provide high-level care in a small-town
atmosphere with big-city resources is essential. Nantucket in the
