Summary: Reporting to Director of Physician Practices LPG Newport the Clinical Manager has the responsibility and accountability for directing and coordinating resources for the delivery of care to patients and their families. Responsible for clinic policies and procedures program development business and fiscal maintenance and development as well as revenue generation for the center. Ensures compliance with requirements and standards of pertinent accrediting and credentialing bodies. Supervises staff. Direct patient care will also be expected of the Program Manager including but not limited to screening education prepping medicating patients for their treatment. The individual will manage medical education plans from strategic concept development through implementation and execution. Responsibilities: PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 10.0pt"> : Program Operations: mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt"> Provide leadership in the development validation implementation and evaluation of standards policies procedures and critical paths to support the patient care delivery model. mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt"> mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt"> Ensure compliance with departmental and regulatory standards including all Joint Commission/CMS requirements.10.0pt"> Create opportunities to educate staff and monitor program compliance with standards. Serve as a liaison with other health care providers i.e. primary care physicians other specialty physicians inpatient nursing and insurance providers. Perform any and all follow up support to patients and team physicians. Participate in improvement of patient care services in a cost-effective manner. Utilize resources efficiently to facilitate optimal patient care. Works with the physician director to develop implement and track relevant quality outcome and patient satisfaction measures. Responsible for overall materials management for the department including participating in routine care and maintenance of equipment. Responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to ensure programmatic growth. Participates in community outreach as appropriate. In conjunction with marketing collaborates on the development of marketing and promotional materials. Provides recommendations as appropriate in development of relevant physician contracts. Patient Care: Provide direct care to patients. Assist physician/PA with procedures or patient care. Conduct assessment of patient needs by evaluating/interviewing all patients arriving to the clinic Triage patients to appropriate care resource (includes direct contact and telephone encounters). Obtain brief history and relevant patient history physical examination and reasons for the visit. Review patient history and other supporting clinical data to facilitate optimum care. Review patient chart laboratory data and radiology results. Assemble all necessary information and data for reviewing physician/PA. Effectively explain and educate patients and/or family members about the procedures. Teaching is based upon assessment expressed need from patient and/or family or the initiation of new treatment. Communicate the plan of care and other pertinent information to/from other healthcare providers. Assist with obtaining authorization for prescribed medications. Obtain vital signs in absence of the medical assistant. Program Quality Improvement: Responsible for ensuring adherence to clinical nursing and all staff competencies Document and record all visits and procedures both manually and thorough EMR system. Perform new techniques and/or routines as necessitated by technological advances and changes. Maintain clinical knowledge and skills based on current pain management nursing practices. 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Adhere to requirements for mandatory continuing education and certification in the field of nursing. 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Maintain optimum quality assurance in all aspects of patient care including maintaining and supporting patients right to care privacy and respect. Financial: Collaborate with the administrative coordinators in scheduling and insurance clearance. Development and oversight of departmental billing for relevant services. Assist in the development of capital and operational budgets with particular attention focused on staffing requirements and ability to meet patient treatment needs. Participate in administrative meetings regarding operational budget. Performs variance analyses monthly as appropriate and recommends plan of correction as required. Develops and ensures compliance with the departments annual operating budget and financial operations. Identify and allocate environmental technical and personnel resources required for meeting the needs of patients families and colleagues. Monitor patient program and staffing needs to provide quality and fiscally responsible patient-focused care. Other information: BASIC KNOWLEDGE: 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Bachelors degree in Nursing required. Must have current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island. Masters degree in business administration or related field preferred. 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Additional coursework in business healthcare administration or management/leadership required if no Masters Degree. EXPERIENCE: 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Minimum of 5-10 years of nursing and administrative departmental experience required with demonstrated leadership. 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Knowledge of and compliance with RIDOH Joint Commission HIPPA ACGME and other regulatory bodies and standards. 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Computer skills including Microsoft Office. 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Ability to access medical history of a patient as well as patient concerns and to determine any limitations/contraindications. 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately. 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Knowledge of locations of emergency equipment and procedures. 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Knowledge of universal precautions. 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Effective interpersonal and communication skills. 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Based on examination findings the ability to recognize identify interpret and document normal and abnormal anatomic structures physiology and pathology. 12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"serif"> Ability to question effectively to obtain pertinent medical information. Ability to provide compassionate care. Providing/directing nursing care throughout the life span with consideration of the aging process developmental and cultural patterns in each step of the nursing process.
