This role is located in our Lincoln, RI office, and will be
eligible for up to two remote work day per week.
Under general direction, this position is responsible for assisting
with the accurate preparation and processing of the company's
payroll and ensuring the accuracy of data in the payroll system. -
- Provide administrative and analytical support for the payroll
department. - - - Research and handle payroll inquiries.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Perform monthly, quarterly and annual general ledger
reconciliations and initiate journal entries as necessary
Update employees' tax withholdings in Payroll system
Initiate and resolve cases relating to withholding tax issues
Report new hires to state agencies and review tax data for
accuracy
Assist with biweekly pay and monthly pension runs
Prepare journal entries to initiate tax payments
Review garnishment orders to ensure accuracy of application
Address employees' payroll questions via telephone and email
Correspond with federal and state agencies, as necessary
Complete unemployment forms, mortgage verifications, Social
Security inquiries and lost wage reports
Prepare annual Census Report
File various Worker Compensation premium payments
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 4 years Accounting and/or Payroll experience, or
equivalent work experience
Ability to maintain professionalism in a highly confidential
environment
Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
Familiarity with HRIS systems is preferred
Technical skills and familiarity with database software is
preferred
