How will you make an impact?
The Thermo Fisher Scientific Early in Career Talent program provides a unique opportunity for high potential college students with a undergraduate degree to develop the skills necessary for both a technical and leadership career path . The program is managed by a dedicated functional leader within Services with oversight by senior leadership within Thermo Fisher Scientific.
What will you do?
Our Early in Career Talent Program enables participants to experience two 9 to 12 month rotational assignments to provide a broad technical experience in different facets of Field Services leading to an exciting career interfacing with customers to solve complex technical problems while allowing for exposure to our core processes, technologies, and leaders. Each rotation is individually designed and determined through a combination of business priorities and individual interests. which allows you to be located at our Tewksbury or Franklin Massachusetts sites. The Early in career rotations expose program participants to diverse business units, products/services, The Program participants will be assigned a mentor.
Rotations include exposure to:

  • Company processes and systems
  • Manufacturing plants
  • Strategic initiatives
  • Senior Leaders
  • Emerging Markets What will you do? Depot Repair Rotation:
    • Clean, inspect, and detail pre-repair condition of all repairs.
    • Perform system and component failure analysis using validated diagnostic troubleshooting techniques.
    • Replace all non-conforming and preventive maintenance parts as needed.
    • Fully test and calibrate completed repairs, and provide comprehensive test data, documentation, and service reporting.
    • Handle most record keeping functions for Return Authorizations, Service Quotes, and Service Orders.
    • Drive lean practices and continuous improvement events central to our service business. Technical Service Support Rotation:
      • Present professional, efficient and friendly customer service to all customers
      • Provide technical support via phone, email and other electronic media
      • Troubleshoot, upgrade and repair equipment as required
      • Interact with Operations, Sales, and Service teams to ensure collaborative efforts leading to timely response to customer needs
      • Assist in the development of technical material and training documents
      • Train customers and colleagues on instrument operation and maintenance
      • Raise and document technical requests and quality issues through the use of CRM tools
      • Up to 10% travel as required for training or in support of service assignments. These rotations are designed to build the skills necessary to transition into a Field Service Engineer role and prepare you for future opportunities across multiple disciplines supporting and serving our customers.
        Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Software, Electrical, Nuclear, Environmental, Manufacturing)
        0 to 1 year technical engineering experience with skills in analytical/process instrumentation software, electronics and mechanical engineering.
        Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
        • Experience with Microsoft Office products and use of a CRM tools such as SalesForce preferred
        • Excellent oral and written communications skills (listening and understanding; problem solving; presentation skills; etc.)
        • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills Relocation will be required at the end of the rotational program as Field Service Engineer positions can be located anywhere within the USA.
