Description
The opportunity
Traveling throughout the US, a Field Service Engineer (FSE) provides installation, preventative, reactive, and emergency services for automated enforcement equipment. A FSE will work with other engineers in a collaborative effort to optimize our service delivery and ensure the highest quality of operations for our customers. The daily work will include working with PC's and software to remotely monitor the equipment, hands-on support of the enforcement systems, coordinating with local contractors for service tasks, recording maintenance logs, and communicating with team members to share knowledge allowing an effective solution to problems.
Skills and Responsibilities



  • Be a self starter, have the capacity to work independently with limited supervision


  • Take ownership of technical issues, drive each problem to resolution


  • Have the understanding that the FSE activities provide reinforcement of our existing customer relationship and are the foundation for future opportunities


  • Effective communicator to our internal and external customers


  • Knowledge of AC & DC circuits including relays, must be skilled with the use of a multimeter


  • Experience with networks, have the ability to setup and troubleshoot IP devices


  • Periodic travel throughout the US, with the primary concentration of work in Rhode Island


    Work Environment
    --- Ability to work at heights of 10' to 30' high (typically 12 feet, greater heights supported by boom lift and partnered with an experienced operator)
    --- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
    --- Can handle being outdoors in various weather conditions
    --- Flexibility to work after hours and weekends (prescheduled - rotating 5 day schedule i.e Monday - Friday, Tuesday - Saturday etc.)

    Requirements


    • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively


    • 1+ years of experience with PC and Mac hardware and software, and an basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN


    • An understanding of networking such as switching and routing is desired


    • CompTIA A+ certification desired


    • Remote Desktop Support experience required


    • Electrical Wiring experience required
