Job Description:

PURPOSE: Reporting to UNFI's Senior Counsel, Corporate & Strategic Transactions, this position will support the Corporate & Strategic Transaction Team within the UNFI Legal Department by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial/vendor agreements supporting UNFI's business operations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Job Responsibilities
Draft, review and negotiate commercial/vendor agreements in support of UNFI's business operations, including service agreements, supply agreements, amendments, and statements of work relating to services, transportation, logistics, and goods not for resale Support Senior Counsel and Associate General Counsel with the rollout of standardized vendor agreement templates across the organization Advise business clients (including senior management) on a day-to-day basis on contract status and other contract-related matters Conduct training to support company contracting practices, policies, and initiatives Assist with other legal and compliance matters, as needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:
J.D. degree or equivalent
Membership in good standing with a state bar and the ability to register as in-house counsel pursuant to the applicable state rules
Experience:
Minimum 5 years' experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, including experience with corporate law and drafting/negotiating commercial contracts
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
Detail and process oriented Strong organizational skills Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to interact with all levels of management/senior leadership
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/DEMANDS:
Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
