Support Technician II will help with the day-to-day production
needs and maintenance for all assembly equipment. In addition to
firearms assembly, this position will involve assembly of remote
weapons stations. The Technician will also assist Assembly
Supervisors and Coordinators as well as help maintain 5S on the
floor. The Technician will report to the Lead Manufacturing
Engineer on first shift and will need to work flexible hours to
accommodate training and learning between shifts. FLSA: Non-exempt
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain machine, fixtures, and
tooling on all lines. Assist with 5S maintenance and upkeep for the
assembly department. Complete odd jobs to assist assembly process
and flow. Assist with assembly line maintenance and line setup and
changes. Assist with build on any assembly line when needed.
Maintain general knowledge including maintenance of automated
machines and manual toggle presses. Provide routine support of
mechanical assembly, wiring, and plumbing of automated assembly
equipment. Participate on machine runoffs for new capital equipment
per machine specifications. Duties include machine operation,
training, and inspection. Troubleshoot and fix production issues on
legacy and new production products. Seek occasional support from
Manufacturing Engineers for persistent issues. Operate CMM
equipment to complete capability studies and troubleshooting for
new and existing processes. Utilize 3D CAD software, SOLIDWORKS, to
complete basic tooling part designs and modifications. Deal with
problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
situations. Assist with the creation, implementation, and
maintenance of process documentation including work instructions,
control plans, and visual standards. Write routine reports and
correspondence. Speak effectively in one-on-one, small group
situations, or to employees of the organization. Work in a
fast-paced environment, multitask, and adapt quickly to change.
Work with a high attention to detail. Work safely in a variety of
situations and follow rules and established processes. May be
required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities
depending on business needs. May be required to work overtime or
alternate shifts based on business needs. Engages in and actively
volunteers for Continuous Improvement projects and tasks.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned. Education/Experience & Skills:
High School diploma or equivalent, 3-6 years of previous technician
work experience, and Engineering education and experience in an
assembly environment is a plus. Minimum 2 years aiding in building,
de-bugging, and run-off of automation machines. Basic knowledge of
3D CAD software, preferably SOLIDWORKS, to create simple parts and
drawings. Demonstrated working knowledge of assembly line structure
to properly identify maintenance tasks. Demonstrated working
knowledge of general assembly fixtures, equipment, tools, and
gages. Ability to read blueprints and interpret part
specifications. Quality of work must be very high. Must be able to
clearly, concisely, and accurately communicate ideas and
information to others, both verbally and in written form. Written
and verbal communication of technical subjects is required.
Organization of documentation and record keeping shall be to a high
standard. Must be able to execute multiple projects necessary to
meet job duties and responsibilities. Must work as part of a team
and be able to lead, plan, and execute multiple projects. Working
Conditions: Regularly perform repetitive tasks. Work is primarily
standing (90 % of the shift) except for lunch and break periods.
Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours. The duties of this job
normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing environment.
Frequent standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking, and stair
climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving
of tooling, parts containers, and materials up to 40 pounds. Must
be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at
a minimum of 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist,
hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions. Must demonstrate
proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn,
and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery or in the
assembly, machining, or testing of parts. Specific vision abilities
required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and
depth perception, and the ability to focus on fine print. Must wear
required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required. Must
comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and
adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates. Qualified applicants
