Organizational Overview
Founded in 1989, the College Crusade supports more than 4,000 students in middle school, high school and college each year with one-on-one advising and year-round programs that focus on academic enrichment, social and emotional development, career education, and postsecondary preparation to help them become the first in their families to earn a college degree

Primary functions and purpose of this position including overall objectives of the position
The Family Engagement Educator designs, leads and facilitates comprehensive parent programs in both English and Spanish for middle school, high school and postsecondary families in the College Crusade's participating school districts. These programs are intended to educate parents about diverse topics with a particular focus on helping their children to succeed academically and socially on the path to college graduation. The position may require facilitation at various venues: our office in Providence, partner district facilities, and via virtual platforms. The FE Educator provides assistance and information to parents when needed and makes referrals to appropriate community resources. This is a part-time seasonal position with potential to become long-term.
Major Responsibilities
Design and Present Family Engagement Programming

Prepares relevant workshop materials and presents information and resources to Crusade students and families.
Facilitates and co-facilitates parent education classes in English and Spanish.
Participates in pre- and post-workshop planning and evaluation meetings.
Conducts program evaluation activities, including tracking services provided, drafting program reports, and participating in evaluation meetings/activities as needed.

Offer Resources and Supports to Participating Families

Facilitates and supports social interactions at our educational workshops and events, fostering positive relationships between students, families, and the College Crusade.
Facilitates parent involvement with student learning, including offering guidance and resources for how parents can engage more fully and impactfully with their students' educational work.
Provides families with resources and information and makes referrals to community agencies as needed.
Attends training and staff meetings as needed.

Position Qualification and Competencies
Essential KSOC's (knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics)

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Comfort with presenting to groups and the ability to engage learners meaningfully.
Bilingual (verbal and written) communication and translation skills in English and Spanish required.
Ability to work comfortably with diverse populations from different socioeconomic backgrounds and cultures.
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
Highly proficient in developing engaging visual presentation materials for workshops.
Knowledge of and familiarity with addressing issues related to college access preferred.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Demonstrated track record of designing and facilitating adult education programs.

Perform additional duties as needed.

This is a part-time position for 10-15 hours/week. Workshops typically occur on week nights in the evening. Additional hours to plan and evaluate workshops will be required, with flexibility to work around the candidate's schedule.
