Job Description:

FAF has an opportunity for an Import & Sourcing Specialist to join our talented and growing team. The Import & Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the successful completion of the product development life cycle from inception through to production for all assigned Accounts and Categories.
The Import & Sourcing Specialist works independently and with PD/Sourcing team, Category Managers, Merchandisers and Sales to prioritize and complete assigned developments, requests and presentations.
Short lead times are a common occurrence and require quick decision making.
Job requires independent judgment, and high organizational skills, creative problem solving, and a 'team player' mentality.


Customer Account Project Management:
Work with Sales team to create calendar timelines and identify presentation needs for assigned Accounts
Shop assigned accounts and comparable Retailers to ensure presentations are appropriate and innovative
Communicate with foreign vendors to develop cost engineered items as needed
Work with internal cross functional team when it falls within their assigned categories
Manage all presentation needs cross functionally - carding, pricing etc and schedule reviews as needed

Product Development/Sourcing:
- - - - - - -Work Cross-functionally to manage development timelines for assigned categories/accounts
Assign item #s and review spec sheets to ensure accuracy for vendor to properly make samples.
Send relevant samples and artwork to vendors.
Work with foreign vendors to ensure Spec sheets are set up correctly with accurate cost, descriptions and images.
Make suggestions to modify/engineer product to meet needed costs and work with vendors to lower cost through changes in design/material.
- - - - - - -Communicate -daily with foreign vendors to solve any pricing issues, development problems, or delivery issues
Effectively communicate development status. Look ahead and identify potential roadblocks.
Create spec sheets as needed.

Presentations and Customer follow-up:
Prepare Presentation and Selection proposals for costing
Target lower costs as needed to meet customer needs.
Supply cross functional team with updated cost and sampling details needed within needed time frame.
Create revised spec sheets as needed based on customer requests
- - - - - - -Re-source existing items either for better first cost/quality or due to customer specifications.

Order Processing:
Work proactively to address any problems regarding design, existing samples, cost etc prior to posting order to vendors
Check all items ordered to ensure vendors have samples need to begin production
Post Program Setup sheets to vendors
Review approval board for all product details, accuracy
Monitor and follow photo imaging of production samples with foreign vendors

Skills and Abilities Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related and/or combination of education and 5+ years experience in Import, purchasing and/or sourcing
Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
Knowledge of Jewelry Manufacturing processes, -materials, and terminology preferred
Understanding of overseas product development processes and geographic strengths
Ability to multitask, and perform variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature
Ability to work autonomously and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative inter-department working relationships.
Ability to occasionally work extra to meet presentation deadlines.
