Wages for new employees will be increased in five percent (5%) increments annually on the anniversary of the date of hire. On June 30, 2022, new employees shall receive the full contractual rate. Proof of vaccination completion will be required before beginning employment with the City.Job SummaryUnder supervision of Design Team Manager, is responsible for the preparation of GIS mapping in order to prepare various CAD based engineering and planning projects; and to manage construction projects of various sizes. In addition, organization and management of project archives system and Parks Maintenance Documents pertaining to the various project Operations and Maintenance Manuals.Duties & Responsibilities1. Performs field assessments and research in support of Parks Department projects, including on site field measurements using level-transit system.

  • Prepares reports and project assessments as required.
  • Prepares design documents, detailed specifications and precise cost estimates and evaluations that conform to all federal, state, and City codes and standards.
  • Prepares requests for proposals for consultant design services, planning services, landscape architectural service, engineering services.
  • Reviews design proposals submitted by contractors or architects with consideration to adherence to specifications, site or park constraints, financial limitations, and public use requirements.
  • Coordinates with Board of Contract and Supply for Park Improvement Projects including but not limited to architectural and engineering services.
  • Manages complex construction projects by parks staff and by contractors including, but not limited to, project inspections, contract management, and financial oversight.8. Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or planning from an accredited college or university preferred, or a related Engineering or Urban Planning degree.
    • Minimum of five years professional experience in the field of Landscape Architecture or site planning, project development, or park improvements.
    • Experience in developing requests for proposal for project planning.
    • Knowledge and experience in AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Suite, ArcGIS online and ArcGIS apps.
    • Must be able to interpret project prints, plans, and site surveys. And prepare scaled drawings of planning and landscape projects.
    • Must possess excellent oral communications and writing skills.
    • Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License.
    • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job.Training RequirementsUpon Appointment:
      • Must be able to gain a working knowledge of departmental technology.
      • and database systems through on-the-job usage and training within six (6) -months. -Sustainment:
        • Must maintain a valid State Driver's License.
        • Periodic training to maintain proficiency in department technology and -database systems.
        • Participation in customer service training every 36 months.The term "limited" means that the successful candidate will perform the job for an undetermined length of time. The position may or may not become permanent.
