Job Description_*This position may not be performed, in whole or in part, in NYC (whether in an office, the field or remotely from the candidate's home.)_**Where You'll Work** : remote US**Data Science at GoTo**Our Retention Team is looking for a Data Scientist to support our account health score models and drive insights related to retention. The ideal candidate will have experience in extracting insights from relational databases and conveying them to a business audience. In this role, you will use your experience with data and statistics to drive customer retention and expansion through various data science techniques such as churn prediction, customer segmentation, and feature recommendation. Excellent communication skills are also required, as this is a highly visible and influential role that will collaborate with cross-functional teams and present information to business leaders.**Your Day to Day**+ Partners with our Marketing, Customer Success, Sales, and Product Teams to drive customer retention and renewals+ Applies Machine Learning algorithms to build predictive models to drive improved KPI outcomes, such as retention, engagement, and adoption.+ Partners with engineering team to deploy predictive models+ Work with data engineering resources to re-train and re-deploy new models when appropriate+ Maintains and improves upon existing machine learning models+ Presents technical findings in a summarized form to non-technical audiences; translates complex quantitative data into succinct actionable insights+ Translates complex quantitative data into succinct actionable insights+ Builds data visualizations to highlight variable importance and model performance+ Works with members of multiple departments to understand processes, data and reporting requirements**What We're Looking For**+ Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in a quantitative field - Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Physics etc.+ At least 2 years of experience in an analytical and/or data science role in a business environment+ Experience in SQL and Python+ Experience working in Big Data and Cloud systems (e.g. AWS, DataBricks, S3, EMR, Hive, Presto) strongly preferred+ Experience with PySpark strongly preferred+ Versed in the fundamentals of statistics, with a working understanding of machine learning algorithms and their applications+ Experience in analyzing business problems and converting them to data problems+ Experience in simplifying and visualizing analytical outputs to suit business audience+ Strong communication/interaction skills - proven track-record of impacting business performance with analyticsYou'll be working towards a shared goal with an open-minded and cohesive team greater than the sum of its parts.
