Job Description:
Provides counseling and other services to children and families
in a Boys Town program under direct supervision from a licensed
practitioner. Assists in developing treatment plans as well as
observing, evaluating, and documenting the results of treatment
interventions.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:Under the supervision
of a licensed practitioner, provides supervised clinical services
to children and families enrolled in a Boys Town program.Provides
counseling and treatment to children and families including
assessments, individual, and group and family therapy.Conducts
sessions utilizing appropriate interventions generally based on a
cognitive behavioral theory.Provides therapy notes, treatment
plans, and other documentation in accordance with client record
protocols; provides documentation for third party payment.Works
collaboratively with consultants in the Boys Town program.Assists
in developing individual treatment plans, monitoring, and updating
progress reports.Develops and maintains effective working
relationships with necessary support services for providing youth
and families with therapeutic services.Attends contract meetings
and communicates the special qualities of Boys Town to outside
consumers as needed.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of
cognitive behavioral therapy along with skill set in motivational
interviewing.Ability to communicate at all levels in the
organization and with external contacts in an articulate,
professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of
confidentiality.Skills in diagnoses, treatment, and service
planning and ability to apply psychological principles and
therapeutic intervention.Ability to adapt responses to situations
while maintaining procedural and regulatory integrity.Ability to
manage caseloads in an effective and efficient manner while
maintaining protocol.Knowledge of principles, methods, and
procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.Ability to
analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best
solution and solve problems.Knowledge of human behavior,
psychological research methods, and the assessment and treatment of
behavioral and affective disorders.Ability to participate
collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work,
Counseling, or related field required.Minimum of 2 years of
experience working with adolescents and families required.Working
toward licensure required.In CA, registered with the California
Board of Behavioral Sciences required.Diversity is more than a
