Join our growing Distribution team today.Competitive Benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K & VacationGrowth and professional development opportunities.Recognition for great work, company events and picnics, and much more.Full-time employment opportunity.JOB OVERVIEWDrive improvement of the Inventory Control function with the goal of minimizing shrink / inventory losses, reducing total inventory and working capital, provide improved reporting for decision making, and ensure best possible alignment between inventory related activities and the company s financial statements. Oversee across all assigned Distribution Centers (Conventional & Natural) all functions relating to product inventory management, returns, damage processing, product integrity, and overall accuracy of inventory (both physical and financial). Review and improve SOP s as required and help ensure adherence to Inventory Management SOP s.--ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:--Coordinate with DC Management, Finance, Operations, Purchasing, Inbound Logistics, Transportation, Safety, Asset Protection and Sales to assure a high level of inventory accuracy, to assure product shrink is minimized, and to assure product quality is maintained at UNFI standards within assigned region. This is accomplished through the regional planning, development and implementation of effective Inventory Control policies, procedures, and planning tools.Requires assisting senior management in development of short- and long-term plans and budget projections.Executes on established operational goals and ensures that company-wide and department goals and are completed and supported.Provide on-the-ground support in Distribution Centers, as needed to drive improvements in Inventory Control and related functions. Track inventories shrink and assist DC and other departments in reducing overall product loss. Ensure inventory discrepancies are investigated and corrected in a timely manner and conduct inspections of the DC to assess problems related to IC and implements pans for improvement as appropriate.Provide leadership to assigned personnel through effective objective setting, delegation, and communication. Holds regular team meetings and effectively communicates changes in policies and procedures and holds development conversations as necessary to ensure performance standards are met. Develop, evaluate, and conduct performance appraisals of department personnel and ensure appropriate staffing levels for the team.Create reports and ad-hoc analysis to identify and drive implementation of improvement opportunities. Advanced excel analyses and modeling will be needed for some of the initiatives. Develops policies and procedures to ensure accuracy of inventory and conducts periodic reviews of existing policies to ensure efficiencies.Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures appropriate for the location. Ensures compliance with safety, legal regulation, and OSHA requirements as necessary.--Experience:5+ years in supply chain including inventory control, especially in environments with highly perishable products.Wholesale Grocery or Food Service Distribution experience preferred.High level of analytics acumen, including complex analysis and modeling.Advanced use of MS Office.
