Overview: This role reports to the Associate Director of Technical
CMC Operations. Organizes and implements a variety of
responsibilities related to the flow of materials, products,
services, and associated systems information. Duties involve but
are not limited to supply chain services, strategic sourcing,
inventory control, critical components availability, material
handling, import-export licensing, shipment of products, supplier
management, and third-party warehousing. Provides data analysis for
production planning and volume studies; and participates in
process/rating improvement efforts. Develops logistics plans and
procedures. Maintains and sources suppliers that align with PEC –
US operational needs to support manufacture and distribution of
clinical and commercial drug product. Negotiation of contracts with
suppliers for components and services. Key Responsibilities:
Interpret data on logistics, including availability,
maintainability, capability, and reliability. Provide logistics
support, including coordination and prioritization of planned
projects as well as documents tracking and troubleshooting
distribution-related issues. Track pharmaceutical product flow from
origin to final delivery. Recommend improvements to logistics
processes and support maintenance of supply chain activities. Apply
analytical methods or tools to understand, predict, or control
inventory and logistics operations or processes. Provide ongoing
analyses of pharmaceutical drug transportation costs, supply chain
operations, back orders, and delivery processes. Participate in
development and execution of pre-commercialization strategy and
planning for new programs. Execute post-commercialization strategy:
coordination, development and implementation of forecast,
procurement, and product strategies. Understand, evaluate, and
execute changes to materials or suppliers in a controlled and
compliant manner utilizing the appropriate process within the
quality management system. Ensure product specifications are kept
up-to-date at vendors / contractors. Ensure suppliers are
maintained in a qualified state. Create and maintain the material /
inventory plan in correlation with the overall production plan.
Collaborate with finance to ensure inventory reports, goods
receipts, and purchase orders are documented and routed
appropriately. Create and maintain effective partnerships with
suppliers. Create and maintain effective partnerships with key
internal (US and global) stakeholders, e.g. tech ops,
manufacturing, regulatory, quality, and finance. Perform due
diligence by evaluating and onboarding new suppliers. Assist in
project management of technical projects directly or indirectly
related to supply chain. Identify, understand, communicate, and
work to mitigate drug product supply chain risk. Qualifications and
Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration,
Logistics, or related field and 2 years of experience working on
pharmaceutical logistics and / or materials management. Experience
developing methods to improve operations efficiency. Experience
identifying solutions to reduce operation costs. Experience with
optimization/simulation programs. Working knowledge of SAP or other
MRP system. Working knowledge of procurement and management of GMP
materials for commercial drug product. Working knowledge of
maintaining GMP compliant vendors and service providers, including
but not limited to material vendors, logistics companies, and
contract manufacturers. Knowledge of Incoterms. Working knowledge
of importation of FDA regulated raw materials and drug product.
Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, distribution, business, and
management principles. Ability to identify technical, budgetary,
and schedule risks to the program and propose appropriate risk
response strategies. Capable of clear and concise written and
verbal communications in one-on-one and group environments.
Competency with MSOffice suite of products and software for supply
chain management (i.e. Anaplan), MRP systems, and Quality systems.
Preferred Advanced degree in business administration or relevant
technical degree Fluent in Mandarin The expected salary range for
this position based on greater Boston, MA location is
$85,000-$95,000. Actual salary pay will be based on multiple
factors, including geographic location, experience, qualifications,
