Job Description Job Description Lund seeks a compassionate and collaborative Family Educator to join our Residential Treatment Program. This role supports parents and their children during a pivotal time in their lives, helping families strengthen relationships, build parenting confidence, and lay a foundation for long?term stability and well?being. The Family Educator works directly with parenting individuals in our residential program, offering individualized education and guidance grounded in child development and family systems. Through developmental screenings, hands-on parenting education, and connections to early childhood and family support services, the Family Educator supports parents in understanding and responding to their children’s emotional, developmental, and physical needs. This work is closely connected to Children’s Integrated Services and emphasizes collaboration, individualized support, and coordination with both residential and community-based partners. In addition to one?on?one support, the Family Educator brings families together through facilitating weekly parent education classes and group socialization opportunities. These groups create space for learning, relationship?building, and peer support, helping parents feel less isolated and more confident in their roles. The Family Educator collaborates closely with the Residential Treatment Team, the Community Home Visiting team, and community partners to promote healthy parent–child attachment and positive family outcomes. The role also includes supporting parents as they navigate and collaborate with systems such as the Department for Children and Families (DCF) and Family Court. At its core, this position is about meeting families where they are, celebrating their strengths, and walking alongside them as they grow. The role includes one adjusted shift per week, intentionally designed to allow the Family Educator to be present during meaningful parent–child moments and deepen relationship?focused support. What You Will Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, along with experience working with teens, children, and families. Ability to collaborate with other professional disciplines, participate in treatment planning, support court?related processes as needed, and maintain accurate, timely documentation. Strong interpersonal, communication, and de?escalation skills, with sound judgment and a commitment to confidentiality. Produce thorough documentation of services and ability to meet reporting deadlines as outlined by the Residential Program and Children’s Integrated Services. Possess flexibility and adaptability to change within program structure. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to follow program policies, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements, including Children’s Integrated Services guidelines.
